The recent changes affecting Temporary Protected Status (TPS) have created significant uncertainty and concern for many Haitian families. Across our community, families are grappling with fear, difficult questions, and an uncertain future. In this critical moment, community organizations, advocates, legal partners, and service providers are working together to provide trusted information, connect families to available resources, and share timely updates as they become available. Through collaboration and coordinated support, we remain committed to ensuring our community has access to accurate information, compassionate guidance, and the resources needed to navigate this challenging time.
What's Happening?
The legal and policy landscape surrounding TPS for Haitians continues to evolve. Recent court decisions have allowed the federal government to move forward with terminating TPS while additional legal proceedings continue. Because immigration policies and court decisions can change quickly, it is important to rely on trusted sources for the most current information. We will continue updating this page as new information becomes available.
Before You Take Action
We know many people are looking for answers. During times of uncertainty, misinformation and immigration scams often increase. Please remember:
Do not rely on rumors or information shared on social media.
Do not pay anyone who promises they can "guarantee" an immigration benefit.
Speak only with qualified immigration attorneys or DOJ-accredited representatives before making important decisions about your immigration status.

Community Response
A coalition of trusted nonprofit organizations, legal service providers, faith leaders, and community partners have come together through the Lakou TPS Initiative to coordinate a community-wide response to the needs of Haitian TPS holders and their families. We are committed to providing accurate information, trusted legal referrals, coordinated support services, and advocacy during this time of uncertainty. Call to Action: Support a Three-Year TPS Extension for Haiti
Please join us in signing a coalition letter urging the U.S. Senate to vote YES on a three-year extension of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitian nationals. The U.S. House has already passed bipartisan legislation supporting this extension. Now, we need the Senate to act.
Please sign the letter and share it with your networks to help protect Haitian families and communities.
